Name: Neutrino Day!
Date: July 8, 2023
Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM MDT
Event Description:
The Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) will celebrate its 15th annual science festival, Neutrino Day, on Saturday, July 8. This free, citywide event fills the Lead community with fun and informative activities for curious minds of all ages!
This year, our keynote speaker is Brian Malow, Earth’s premier science comedian, whose comedy pokes fun at the surprisingly entertaining world of science. Visitors can also learn about safely navigating underground drifts with Caterpillar; innovations in renewable energy with Red Cloud Renewables; new science discoveries with the Majorana Demonstrator; and more from our incredible speaker line-up.

Throughout the day, hoistroom tours, hands-on activities, science talks, and demonstrations will take place all day at locations throughout Lead, including the Sanford Underground Research Facility, the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center, the Historic Homestake Opera House, and the Handley Recreation Center. Shuttle transportation will allow visitors to participate in all the fun.

Neutrino Day activities, booths, and demonstrations start at 9 a.m. and wrap up at 3:30 p.m., just in time for our keynote speaker at 4 p.m.
