Event Description:

For researchers looking for extremely rare particle interactions, subatomic “background noise” can be deafening. But physicists at Sanford Lab are working to turn down the volume.

At “Deep Talks: How low can you go?”, join Dr. Brianna Mount for a live virtual tour of the Black Hills State University Underground Campus, or BHUC, nearly a mile underground at Sanford Lab. Mount will discuss how physicists harness the science of radiation to take minute measurements and support other experiments at Sanford Lab.

Join us for a live virtual tour, a presentation and a celebration of International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which falls on February 11, 2021.

Dr. Brianna Mount is a professor of physics at Black Hills State University and director of the BHUC at Sanford Lab.
