Name: Deep Talks: Black Holes: The Edge of All We Know
Date: December 7, 2023
Time: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM MST
Event Description:
Experiment Support Scientist Mark Hanhardt joins us for a viewing and Q&A session based on the documentary about the darkest objects and the brightest—the simplest and the most complex objects in the universe.

Black holes stand at the edge of the knowable universe. The Event Horizon Telescope pursues the first picture of a black hole; Stephen Hawking and collaborators attack the black hole paradox at the heart of physics. Directed and produced by Peter Galison, Black Holes | The Edge of All We Know follows observers, theorists, and philosophers hunting these most mysterious objects.

With a run time of 1:39, this special extended Deep Talks will be presented in person only, so be sure to join us for this exclusive viewing featuring theoretical physicists Stephen Hawking, Andrew Strominger, Malcolm Perry, and Sasha Haco.

The Deep Talks lecture series is sponsored by Crow Peak Brewing Company.
