Event Description:
Join local poet Naomi Mac Millan for a creative writing workshop. This session will feature warm up and brain storming exercises, guided prompts, two timed writing blocks and two opportunities to share work for community critique. Please bring your own writing materials.
About: Naomi moved to South Dakota in 2022 with her husband Ben and demon kitty Littles. Naomi has been writing ever since she could hold a crayon in her tiny fist. She prefers to write about the things she’d been told to be quiet about, and when not writing, she's likely under a weighted blanket analyzing horror films, reading a dozen books, on a trail touching grass, or howling at the moon. Her poem Time Best Spent was published in The Bookmark (Henry’s Books, South Dakota 2026), and her poem Genesis: In The Beginning Was The Garden of Goddess and Gorgon, placed as a semifinalist and honorable mention for Tulip Tree Publishing's 2026 Wild Women Issue 19
