Born and raised in the Black Hills, Jimi loves being out in the beauty and serenity of nature. She enjoys all the hills have to offer from skiing to mountain biking, hiking to fishing. After studying art and education at the University of Wyoming, she thrived in a 16-year career as a high school art teacher, and now she is passionate about empowering people through the creative process. Jimi uses various art forms to develop a sense of personal power from hands-on art techniques, to meditative creative processes, to the rhythmic moves of belly dance, helping people become more fully present in their lives. She is long-time student of yoga and tai-chi and is a Reiki Master. Jimi lives just outside Deadwood with her husband, two wonderful kids, and three mischievous canines.
Meditative Art (Mondays 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm)
This class is about an experience. It will take you on an embodiment journey, where we learn to channel a creative flow while using meditative practices to enhance a higher state of being. We will seek a deep reset of our mind, energy, and bodies and enhance the connection between them. Each month we will look at a new material and process to pair with our meditation, so some months there maybe a material fee in addition.
