Born and raised in the Black Hills, Jimi loves being out in the beauty and serenity of nature. She enjoys all the hills have to offer from skiing to mountain biking, hiking to fishing. After studying art and education at the University of Wyoming, she thrived in a 16-year career as a high school art teacher, and now she is passionate about empowering people through the creative process. Jimi uses various art forms to develop a sense of personal power from hands-on art techniques, to meditative creative processes, to the rhythmic moves of belly dance, helping people become more fully present in their lives. She is long-time student of yoga and tai-chi and is a Reiki Master. Jimi lives just outside Deadwood with her husband, two wonderful kids, and three mischievous canines.



Belly Dance Basics (Tuesdays 6:00 to 7:00 pm)

This class is for all levels of fitness and ages and requires no experience. Using traditional moves of the Raq Sharqi belly dance form fused with other tribal dance moves, this class will teach you the basics that will have you shimmying and shaking into a more vibrant you! Belly dance basics is a moderately paced dance class where you get to exercise and enjoy and appreciating all that your body can do! Wear comfortable exercise clothing, like yoga pant and tee. Nothing too tight or too baggy.
