Historic Homestake Opera House announces auditions for ‘Oliver!’ The Gold Camp Players will be holding auditions for their Spring Musical production of ‘Oliver!’ Saturday March 9 and Sunday, March 10 from 1 to 3 pm and Monday, March 11 from 5 to 7 pm at the Historic Homestake Opera House, 313 W. Main Street, Lead, SD. ‘Oliver! An English musical with music and lyrics by Lionel Bart won the Tony Award for best original musical score in 1963. Based upon the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens the show was adapted for film in 1968 and won six academy awards, including best picture. Performance dates for this production are May 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. and May 5 & 12 at 2 p.m. For more information contact, David Scherer, at 381-8753.
